Heavenly Father,
Thank you for yet another day to live life wrapped in the warm embrace of your love, mercy, and grace. I am thankful for your continued mercies in my life as you lead me along this path through the world. I know that I am often ungrateful and prone to believing the lies of the world and the self-deceptions of my own heart. You have been faithful and steadfast in your love for me. Your loving kindness has brought me through the fiery trials and the treacherous storms. Through them all, you have proved yourself to me over and over.
The beauty of this world displays your infinite power and wisdom. It calls out for me to worship the One who created all things. The heavens declare your glory and my my heart yearns for you. Forgive me when I wrap this truth in the lies of self-delusion. Forgive me for ignoring and even actively working against you as I seek to make myself the god of my own life. My heart is a treacherous thing. It seeks to break free from your embrace and assert my own will and dominance. Free me from these lies and fill me with the glorious truth of freedom found only in Christ.
Fill my heart with your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Transform and shape my character to display these holy qualities at all times with all peoples, including myself. Teach me to love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. Make me more like Jesus every day.
